Instructors: Who They Are“This is a company where leaders recognize that talent does not just “support” the brand; it is the brand.”— Bija Bennett
We are proud to have some wonderful teachers as part of our YogaAway Instructor team. Many of our teachers have been teaching since the launch of YogaAway in 2005. We would like to honor them by featuring a teacher each month so they can share their inspiring stories. These stories and themes and messages are about people, heroes and individuals doing what they love.
"At a very early age I started to understand the idea of focus and awareness. I was a professional ballerina at sixteen and continued my studies of dance through my thirties. Throughout my life I am still reminded of how profound this experience was.
I found yoga to be a natural transition for me, and so much more than I could have imagined. After my first real exposure to yoga (a retreat in Maui with Gary and Mirka Kraftsow), my thought was "I have come home". I knew instantly that I was willing to immerse myself into this ancient tradition. The most remarkable experience I have had in my own personal practice is the direct relationship of pranayama to the
illness I have carried with me most of my life: Manic-Depression. At one time early in my teacher training I shared with the group that for almost a year I was free of major depression. This was a first in my life. Yoga is life-saving for me.
As I continue on this journey of life, I am also acutely aware of how yoga has shifted my perspective of the world around me. I am now much more the observer rather than the reactor: I am able to be still." — Adlee Camozzi Adlee will be teaching the YogaAway™ program at the new Hyatt in Seattle, Washington — Olive 8 — which is the first LEED certified hotel in the United States. |
